Testimonials
“Amy Weisberg presented at the 2012 California Kindergarten Conference. Her session on curriculum for Transitional Kindergarten was extremely well received by the 200+ attendees. Amy provided information about developmentally appropriate educational practices that was both general (with links to the research base) and specific (with examples of real children and how to address their developmental needs).”

“Amy is one of the most passionate teachers I have ever worked with. Her knowledge and experience enable her to meet the individual needs of each and every student. Amy is able to effectively assess the current needs of her students and then provide the instruction that they need to overcome any challenges they may be facing. She utilizes tools and strategies that allow students to feel successful and confident, both as learners as well as individuals. She is 100% dedicated to developing the whole child, and goes above and beyond teaching solely academics. Amy strives to develop life long learners who are confident and who possess a strong foundation that will lead them to many successful outcomes in their education. I am very fortunate to have her on the faculty at Topanga Elementary!”

“If education were mapped out like a food chain, Amy Weisberg would be at the top. She is a fierce advocate for learning in the truest sense of the word. Where there are gaps or others may have lagged behind in their teaching, Amy is constantly there to change that; to not only fill in the missing links, but also to create a learning environment where they are unlikely to even exist. My daughter had Amy for her first year of kindergarten, and the mutual adoration and trust/respect Amy and the kids had for each other was unlike anything I’d ever seen before. Amy also helped my older daughter catch up on her studies in an after school program. I learned a lot just by watching Amy’s creative yet structured methods to help my child learn from new angles. Whether at school or online reading her enlightening blogs and articles, I’ve enjoyed watching Amy slice through the choppy waters of education like the calm and confident pro she is. She is the perfect meeting point of both friend and tireless fighter. I’d recommend her for anything where success is paramount.”

“As a mother and an arts administrator I throw my full support behind Ms. Weisberg. Her developmental kindergarten program prepared my daughter beautifully for her next steps in elementary education. I was so impressed with her approach to education, teaching tools and commitment to the arts that I asked her to serve on the LA Opera teacher’s advisory council and solicit her advice regularly. Amy is a first-rate educator.”
Jill Burnham, Education Manager, LA Opera
“Amy was our daughter Mackenzie’s TK teacher at Topanga Elementary this past year. Her kindness, knowledge & support to a new parent in the school system was priceless. Anyone that has the chance to have Amy in their child’s life is truly blessed. Amy has left a huge impression on Mackenzie making learning fun & exciting.”

“Amy is a truly unique person, teacher and friend. She is passionate, open-minded,
caring and always an inspiration. Amy views teaching in a very holistic manner. She sees the whole child and does not focus on only one aspect of learning or child development. She inspires and shines her love on her students and parents. She is very forward-thinking. She is motivated to take all of her years of experience as an educator as well as a parent and pass it along to everyone she encounters. She is fearless.”

“Amy Weisberg understands that just a few months makes a significant difference in the ages of kindergartners. She has developed a program for children born on the back end of the calendar that takes into account that these kids are really between pre-school, and traditional Kindergarten and need a specific kind of structuring and nurturing. She expects these kids to be more wiggly, and not ready to sit for long periods of time and accommodates them well.
When my daughter was in her class, in addition to having kids on the younger end of the grade, Amy Weisberg seamlessly managed several children’s issues at once including: autism, diabetes, and severe peanut allergies. It would have been enough to overload most teachers – she handled it with grace.
I have seen other schools come to study her successful program, and she has been recognized with the Lori Petrick Excellence in Education award. After being in Ms. Weisberg’s class, I was sure that my daughter was intellectually ready to go from developmental Kindergarten directly onto first grade. She encouraged her to be tested and counseled us that her emotional age was younger than her intellectual age. We agreed to transition her to regular kindergarten instead of first grade, and are so happy we did that. She is in 4th grade now – and is confident and happy, because she excelling in her grade. She is a leader in her class. I have not seen another teacher that goes over and above in keeping up her professional studies as she does, finds many creative new resources to support her work, and is as thoughtful and diligent in problem solving. Amy Weisberg is a top tier teacher, one of Los Angeles Unified’s best!”
